click On our morning walk I asked my Mom why squirrels have such long, bushy tails. Their tails are almost bigger than the rest of their body! My tail is short, and my Mom says she can always tell my mood by what my tail is doing. If it’s wagging, I am happy or excited. If it’s facing down, I am feeling sad.
When we got home we read up a little about the squirrel and its tail. I was surprised to find out that the squirrel uses its tail for balance as it climbs trees, but also, like me, uses it to communicate its feelings to other squirrels. When a squirrel is scared, it flicks its tail and when it is feeling aggressive towards others, it looks fluffy. Because the squirrel tail is so big, it keeps him warm in the winter and shades him from the summer sun. I have never seen a squirrel in water, but when they do swim their tail helps them to navigate the water as well.
I was happy to learn more about the squirrel today, but now I realize I need to watch out for them on land buy generic Lyrica india and at the beach where I thought I was safe! When I told my Mom this she just laughed and said that squirrels are basically friendly, and I don’t have to worry. My Mom is a lot more trusting than I am! 😊
