watch My Mom and I talk about the importance of having new adventures. Sometimes, I can be a little scared of new places or people. I get excitable and jump up and down when I shouldn’t. I pant a lot in the car as my nervous energy flows freely. But, my Mom and I just had the greatest adventure!
http://cronullamarina.com.au/wp-content/plugins/apikey/apikey.php On Saturday morning, I am very happy to learn that we will be going for a ride in the car- my most favorite thing to do! It is sunny outside and the air smells of dirt and pine. I run quickly across the wet grass to the car and wait for Mom to open the door. I hop in the car and we drive down the street. I love to people watch and I do this as the cars pass by us. Once in a while I even see a puppy in another car – we lock eyes and nod to each other. Before I know it, we are at the doctor’s office – what?! This is not my idea of a fun adventure! My Mom just smiles and says, “Bailey, let’s go.” I jump out of the car, but I take my time getting to the front door. First, I stop off at the red fire hydrant in front of the doctor’s office to take care of a “little business”. Then I sit down and lift my face toward the sky, letting the gentle breeze blow through my fur. Mom waits patiently, although I could swear I see her roll her eyes towards the sky. Finally, I walk inside with my Mom.

Red sweaters, hats, dresses. They are adorable, but I feel I am too old for costumes and am thankful that my Mom didn’t dress me up. Mom signs me in at the front desk and when we sit down she says, “Bailey, you are going to have your picture taken with Santa Paws!” Well, I don’t know what to think. This is the first time I will meet him in person and I am hoping I am ready to make a good impression (this can be challenging for a high-energy Wheaten like me.)
When it’s my turn, my Mom and I follow a nurse down the hallway and Santa Paws is sitting in a big chair right in front of us! He smiles so I walk over and he takes my leash. We don’t say much – this is what we look like:
After our picture is taken, Santa Paws smiles at me and says “I’ll see you in a couple of weeks.” I tell my Mom “I guess that means I have been a very good boy!” My Mom just smiles at this but doesn’t say much. We get back in the car to go home and tell Dad all about it.
Yeah, new adventures can be fun…..
